Geevor Tin Mine: Rich History and a Great Café

Geevor Tin Mine is one of those places that gives you a real sense of where you are. Perched above the sea on the north coast of West Cornwall, it offers a mix of dramatic scenery, mining history, and walking options—with plenty of space to explore at your own pace.

Dogs are welcome in many parts of the site, including the café.

Walking around the main mine area is easy enough, with wide paths and a gentle slope. There’s also a steeper route down towards the cliffs if you fancy a longer walk—and it links beautifully with the coast path for those wanting a bigger adventure.

Whether you’re stopping for lunch, interested in the mining heritage, or just want to stretch your legs with some views, Geevor makes a great trip and it's only a few minutes from Lebanon Cottage. It’s especially good if you want somewhere that offers interest for all ages - with the option to do as much or as little as you like.

Planning your visit:

Geevor Tin Mine is located just outside Pendeen, and is well signposted from the B3306. There’s free parking on site, with plenty of space even in the busier months. The café and surface-level site are open most of the year, but check opening times and dog access before you go, especially if you're visiting outside peak season.
